Rights of Patients
- The patient has the right to be treated with respect for human dignity.
- The patient has the right to respect for his or her cultural, philosophical and religious convictions.
- The patient has the right to receive care appropriate to their health status, within the scope of preventive, curative and rehabilitation care.
- The patient has the right to be informed about the health services available at IMO, their competencies and levels of care.
- The patient has the right to be informed about their health situation.
- The patient has the right to obtain a second opinion about their health situation.
- The patient has the right to give or refuse consent before any medical procedure or participation in research or clinical teaching.
- The patient has the right to confidentiality of all clinical information and identifying elements concerning him or her.
- The patient has the right to access the data recorded in their clinical file, which should only be provided by their attending physician.
- The patient has the right to privacy when performing any and all medical procedures.
- The patient has the right, either by himself or through someone representing him, to present suggestions and complaints.
Duties of Patients
- The patient has a duty to take care of his or her health.
- The patient has the duty to provide health professionals with all the information necessary to obtain a correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
- The patient has the duty to respect the rights of other patients.
- The patient has the duty to respect healthcare professionals and the IMO’s operating rules.
- The patient has the duty to collaborate with health professionals, respecting the indications that are recommended and, by him, freely accepted.
- The patient has the duty to use health services appropriately and to actively collaborate in reducing unnecessary expenses.
