Angio-OCT
The difference in a signal obtained at the same site of the retina through the emission and reception of the “laser scan” corresponds to the movement of blood within the vessels of the retina. Complex eyes correction systems (referred to as “eye tracking”) allow the elimination of any “noise” produced by involuntary eye movements and, through complex and elaborate algorithms, obtain very detailed images of the retinal vascular plexus.

This examination is very useful in the studies of vascular diseases of the retina and choroid, such as Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinal Venous Occlusion, among other frequent pathologies.

The Instituto de Microcirurgia Ocular has the latest generation of software to perform Angio – OCT (OCT A), which is systematically performed according to the manufacturer (Heidelberg Engineering) standards, allowing, with a non-invasive and comfortable way for the patient, to obtain images of the circulation of the retina in its different plexus with a level of resolution that is almost anatomical due to the fact of how precise it is.
